Happy Independence Day 2026!
Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a national holiday in India, commemorating the nation’s independence from British rule on 15 August 1947. It marks the day when the provisions of the Indian Independence Act, 1947, came into effect, transferring legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly.
Independence Day is not merely a commemoration of freedom from colonial rule; it is also a tribute to the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty. It reminds us of the values of democracy, justice, equality, and unity enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Keeping the significance of this special national occasion in mind, students from different classes of our school enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and independence.
The celebrations provided students with an opportunity to express their love for the nation and understand the importance of our freedom and responsibilities as citizens.
